The General Practice Management Institute ("GPMI", "we") is responsible for your personal data when you use this website or engage with us. Our contact details are set out below.

When you register your interest, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, role, practice or organisation, and your consent to receive updates.

If you contact us by email, we also keep your message and your contact details so we can reply.

We collect the minimum information needed to respond to you and to administer the professional register.

To protect the form from automated misuse, submissions are checked automatically (for example, how quickly the form was completed and how often submissions arrive from the same connection). These checks do not identify you personally, and any technical records are deleted within 24 hours.

Your details are stored in a secure database hosted in Europe (Ireland). Access is restricted: the website can add new registrations but cannot read, change or remove existing ones.

We do not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area.

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, keep you informed about applications and timelines, and to administer registration on the professional register.

Our legal bases are your consent (when you register your interest), and compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating a professional register (when you apply for or hold registration).

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who support our website and communications, under agreement, and where required by law.

At present this includes Practice Ally Ltd, our website developer, which maintains this website and may also provide administrative support, and Lovable, whose cloud platform hosts this website and the database where registration details are stored (on servers in Ireland).

Access to registration records is otherwise limited to the Institute itself.

We keep your details only for as long as you are happy to receive updates from us. If you ask us to remove your details, or withdraw your consent, we will delete them promptly.

As a general review, we also remove details we have not been in contact with for two years — for example, where our updates are no longer opened or are no longer relevant.

When professional registration opens, information relating to applications and registration will be kept only for as long as needed to administer the register and to meet our legal and professional obligations.

You have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased, in certain circumstances;
• restrict or object to our use of your data;
• receive your data in a portable form; and
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

This website uses only cookies that are necessary for it to function. We do not use analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, and we do not track your browsing across other websites.

We do collect basic, anonymous visit statistics (such as page views and visit counts) — without using cookies and without identifying individual visitors — so we can understand how the site is used.
